Popular YouTube cryptocurrency investigator Coffeezilla accused Hailey Welch of running a “pump and dump” scheme. He claimed that Welch and her team hyped up the coin before its release to inflate its value, only to cash out for a hefty profit later. Welch, however, denied the accusations, stating her team didn’t sell any tokens.
Coffeezilla further alleged that Welch’s team intentionally targeted her fans, many of whom lacked any prior experience with cryptocurrency. He claimed they avoided marketing the coin to seasoned crypto enthusiasts, or “crypto bros,” as they likely wouldn’t have invested. Instead, Coffeezilla accused Welch’s team of exploiting her fans’ trust, calling the incident the “Hawk Tuah scam” and criticizing the team for failing to take responsibility.

This isn’t the first time a celebrity has been embroiled in a crypto controversy. Back in 2021, Kim Kardashian was fined $1.26 million by U.S. regulators after failing to disclose that she was paid to promote a cryptocurrency called EthereumMax.
If Hailey Welch is sued and found guilty of scamming her fans, she could face penalties. However, claims that she’s going to jail are just social media rumors for now.
